Meet Sienna
Sienna was one of 26 horses cruelly crammed into a lorry to be illegally exported from the UK. As she is a naturally anxious pony anyway, this must have been particularly stressful for her. We cannot begin to understand what brought her to this situation as she is such a sweet and sensitive mare. With Sienna, slow and steady is the key to helping her relax and gain her trust. She needs to be given time to assess the situation before she enters it herself, especially if it is something she has not encountered before. Fortunately Sienna is food orientated and this does help overcome some of her fears although it would be better if this is done sparingly. There is the possibility that once settled in a home and more relaxed, Sienna could be backed to ride although this will depend very much on how confident she becomes. We are equally happy for her to remain as a non ridden companion to another to just kick up her heels and enjoy life as a pony. Whatever her destiny holds, this sweet little pony certainly deserves a second chance to have a brighter future than her past.
