Meet Craigieburn Cariad

Cariad is a gorgeous bay mare who is full of character. Cariad arrived at Belwade Farm extremely overweight and has been kept on strict grazing management and regular exercise resulting in an impressive weight loss. She is a very friendly mare who adores people and makes a strong bond with her handler. Cariad is a sensitive pony and gets stressed with change to her routine so will need a confident handler on the ground to maintain her boundaries and manners. She has been backed to ride since arriving and has a lot of potential as an all-round riding pony out in a new home. Cariad is confidently hacking out alone and in company and her canter work is improving in the school. Please note that Cariad is still green with her schooling, and she will need an experienced adult rider to bring her on further, she is not suitable for a child or novice rider. The right rider will have so much fun with her as she has the potential to do lots of fun activities out on loan, but she will take some time to settle into a new routine. Cariad has a maximum rider weight limit of 11.5 stone. She gains weight very easily so will require a home with restricted grazing with other good doers. Cariad is very opinionated with the geldings at the farm and would not like to be turned out with them so will need to live with a herd of mares. She would get extremely anxious if left alone so must have friends in her field. Cariad has a big personality and will paw the ground and bang stable doors if she isn’t receiving enough attention from her groom. If you think you could offer this beautiful Welsh mare a new home where she will be brought on further, please apply online.
