Meet Ruby

Ruby is completely transformed from the terrified little pony who first arrived at Hall Farm to a sweet natured young girl who is gradually learning to trust. She was completely unhandled in the past and everything was new and scary to her. After several months of gentle handling, Ruby will now quietly wicker when approached in the field and no longer feels she has to get away. Although still a little anxious at times, she is more willing to trust humans and experience new situations. Ruby is normally bottom of the pecking order in the herd and she will move away from any squabbles. Overall Ruby is generally good to handle and this should only improve over time as she gains more confidence. This gentle little mare will thrive in a quiet home with a regular routine and the companionship of others. Although not suitable to ride, Ruby has a lot to give and will make a welcome addition to any yard. If introduced gradually once settled, Ruby has the potential to be left alone for short periods whilst her friend is being ridden.

Important stuff

Ruby can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ruby is not suitable to be worked.
